Today \u00a0(on day 6 of our trip) we\u00a0 had\u00a0 to\u00a0 wake\u00a0 up\u00a0 early\u00a0 to\u00a0 catch\u00a0 our train\u00a0 to\u00a0 Jinan. The\u00a0 staff\u00a0 at\u00a0 our hotel\u00a0 was\u00a0 so\u00a0 nice, they\u00a0 even prepared\u00a0 breakfast\u00a0 bags for everyone\u00a0 to\u00a0 take\u00a0 with. A\u00a0 minibus was\u00a0 already\u00a0 waiting\u00a0 outside\u00a0 to\u00a0 take\u00a0 us\u00a0 to\u00a0 the Beijing\u00a0 South railway\u00a0 station. Everything\u00a0 went smoothly\u00a0 since\u00a0 the\u00a0 whole\u00a0 system\u00a0 in\u00a0 the\u00a0 railway\u00a0 station\u00a0 was well organized.\u00a0 After\u00a0 a quick\u00a0 security\u00a0 check,\u00a0 we\u00a0 found\u00a0 the\u00a0 right\u00a0 platform\u00a0 in no\u00a0 time.<\/p>\n

Our\u00a0 agenda in\u00a0 Jinan\u00a0 was\u00a0 to\u00a0 visit\u00a0 two\u00a0 companies:\u00a0 \u00c5F\u00a0 P\u00f6yry\u00a0 and\u00a0 LiNuo\u00a0 Group. \u00c5F\u00a0 P\u00f6yry\u00a0 was\u00a0 the first\u00a0 excursion\u00a0 of the day\u00a0 and\u00a0 our host,\u00a0 Pertti Koivuniemi\u00a0 \u2013\u00a0 the Vice\u00a0 President of\u00a0 \u00c5F\u00a0 P\u00f6yry\u00a0 in\u00a0 Jinan,\u00a0 had\u00a0 kindly\u00a0 organized\u00a0 a bus\u00a0 for the\u00a0 day.\u00a0 It\u00a0 picked us up\u00a0 from\u00a0 the\u00a0 railway\u00a0 station\u00a0 and\u00a0 took\u00a0 us from\u00a0 a\u00a0 place\u00a0 to\u00a0 place\u00a0 in\u00a0 Jinan.<\/p>\n

At \u00c5F\u00a0 P\u00f6yry,\u00a0 Pertti gave\u00a0 us\u00a0 a\u00a0 presentation\u00a0 of\u00a0 the company\u00a0 and\u00a0 their\u00a0 operations\u00a0 in China.\u00a0 \u00c5F\u00a0 P\u00f6yry\u00a0 in Jinan\u00a0 has specialized in\u00a0 projects in paper\u00a0 and\u00a0 pulp\u00a0 industry\u00a0 but\u00a0 they\u00a0 have\u00a0 some\u00a0 co-operation\u00a0 with\u00a0 the\u00a0 chemical\u00a0 industry as well.\u00a0 We\u00a0 had\u00a0 pizza\u00a0 for\u00a0 lunch and\u00a0 discussed about\u00a0 the\u00a0 differences\u00a0 between\u00a0 Finnish\u00a0 and\u00a0 Chinese\u00a0 work cultures.\u00a0 We\u00a0 learned that\u00a0 the\u00a0 Chinese\u00a0 work\u00a0 environment is\u00a0 all\u00a0 about\u00a0 networking.\u00a0 It\u00a0 is\u00a0 vital\u00a0 to\u00a0 have\u00a0 good connections,\u00a0 since\u00a0 the culture\u00a0 is\u00a0 very\u00a0 social\u00a0 and\u00a0 appreciates\u00a0 different\u00a0 communities\u00a0 such\u00a0 as\u00a0 family\u00a0 and\u00a0 friends. We also\u00a0 heard\u00a0 more\u00a0 about\u00a0 the energy\u00a0 sector in\u00a0 China from\u00a0 the\u00a0 viewpoint\u00a0 of\u00a0 \u00c5F\u00a0 P\u00f6yry\u00a0 Management\u00a0 Consulting. Cyber\u00a0 security\u00a0 plays\u00a0 an important\u00a0 role\u00a0 in\u00a0 business,\u00a0 and\u00a0 one\u00a0 way\u00a0 for\u00a0 companies\u00a0 to\u00a0 deal with\u00a0 the problem\u00a0 is\u00a0 to restrict\u00a0 the\u00a0 access\u00a0 of their\u00a0 employees and\u00a0 associates\u00a0 to\u00a0 their\u00a0 databases. Finally, we\u00a0 had\u00a0 an\u00a0 interesting\u00a0 discussion\u00a0 with our hosts\u00a0 about\u00a0 topics\u00a0 such\u00a0 as\u00a0 the\u00a0 future\u00a0 of renewable\u00a0 energy\u00a0 in China and\u00a0 in Finland.\u00a0 Our\u00a0 hosts\u00a0 were\u00a0 familiar with\u00a0 the\u00a0 Finnish\u00a0 company\u00a0 Savosolar!<\/p>\n

After\u00a0 the\u00a0 visit\u00a0 to\u00a0 LiNuo\u00a0 Group\u00a0 the\u00a0 bus drove\u00a0 us to\u00a0 our\u00a0 hotel.\u00a0 The\u00a0 hotel\u00a0 was\u00a0 much\u00a0 bigger\u00a0 and\u00a0 fancier\u00a0 than\u00a0 the one\u00a0 before, which\u00a0 was\u00a0 nice. We\u00a0 were\u00a0 surprised\u00a0 by\u00a0 the\u00a0 fact\u00a0 that\u00a0 the\u00a0 menus at\u00a0 restaurants\u00a0 were\u00a0 only\u00a0 in\u00a0 Chinese, and\u00a0 they\u00a0 didn\u2019t\u00a0 even have\u00a0 any\u00a0 pictures\u00a0 either. Therefore,\u00a0 ordering\u00a0 food\u00a0 was a\u00a0 bit\u00a0 challenging\u00a0 but\u00a0 luckily\u00a0 we have\u00a0 Silja\u00a0 who\u00a0 saved the\u00a0 day\u00a0 again\u00a0 with her Chinese\u00a0 skills.\u00a0 Jinan\u00a0 was beautiful during\u00a0 the\u00a0 night\u00a0 time,\u00a0 especially the Daming\u00a0 Lake\u00a0 with\u00a0 all the\u00a0 lights.<\/p>\n
